The nursing assistant program is in it's first year at Stadium, and they're already getting their hands "dirty."
In their "Patient Care Skills" unit they have a chance to practice the skills they've learned in class on the teachers of Stadium High School.
"I was probably the most nervous (of everyone)," senior Jordawn Emmett said.
Among the skills the student had to show were brushing a patient's teeth, transferring the patient to a wheelchair, and feeding. All of this took place in the nursing lab Judy Smith has put together, with some help from Bates Technical college.
"They donated some of the equipment, and some of it I kept from the move to the new Stadium," Mrs. Smith said. "It's a work in progress."
This is the first year for the Intro to Nursing class, and it's currently the only class of it's kind in the district.
