eSIS Basics
an Introduction to eSIS for Office Professionals
Welcome to this online introductory course for Tacoma's Electronic Student Information System (eSIS). Completion of this course will allow you to obtain login information and access to your school's data within the system. This is not an introduction to the Teachers' Assistant Module (TAM) and is thus not applicable for teachers.
Please pay special attention to the requirements of each module as they will guide your learning. Be prepared to test your knowledge at the end of each section. You will not be able to proceed to the next module without correctly answering questions related to the requirements.
NOTE: This system will not track your location within the training. Once you begin the training, it is recommended that you complete the entire training. Returning to the training at another date would require you to start from the beginning. You may do so freely if you feel it necessary to become proficient with the system.
- eSIS Start Screen - This module will cover logging into the eSIS system and understanding the basic layout of the Start Screen.
- Queries - The most important skill to familiarize yourself with is querying. This skill will allow you to access information quickly and efficiently. Video tutorials are provided.
- Navigating Screens - The eSIS system holds a lot of information, and schools each use these data differently. This module is designed to introduce the major screens that you can loop through. Additionally, there are a few notes on dos and do nots that you should be aware of related to student information.
- Documentation - A short list of documents that will really help you use eSIS on a daily basis. Download, save, and print these valuable resources. Additionally, you will print, sign, and submit paperwork verifying completion of the course.
